Over A Pint Marketing Podcast

Jul 1, 2023

George Webb Restaurants have been a part of Wisconsin forever. Well, okay. Just since 1948, but you have to admit that’s a pretty good record.  At Over a Pint, we say it’s a mandatory tip of the cap to any brand that’s been around for 75 years as that’s one hell of a run!

On this episode, Kurt and Pat sit down with Ryan Stamm, Vice President of George Webb Corporation, to get the score on what it takes to survive (and thrive) in the restaurant biz.

We find out it’s not easy for a local favorite to keep pace with the chain eatery giants who seem to have endless dollars to spend.  Ryan talks about what makes George Webb such a unique brand round these parts, the challenge to market with limited dollars, and all of the other hurdles thrown at local businesses these days like soaring prices, supply chain issues and continued competition.

But here’s the deal, George Webb Restaurants are more than just another place to put your fanny down and order up some bacon and eggs (oh but they are so good as is their chili).

George Webb is an iconic brand … in fact, George Webb Restaurants and Wisconsin naturally go together, like bacon and eggs or burgers and fries. Maybe it’s thanks to the fresh, local products that you’ll find on their menu. Or, maybe it’s the outrageous baseball predictions (go Crew!) Or, it could be the friendly vibe at the front counter where everyone’s a neighbor (except when the Packers lose, and everyone is grumbling. But at least we’re all grumbling together).

You probably have your own reasons (and memories) for thinking of Webb’s as a Wisconsin tradition.  Whatever your reason, check out this episode as it’s so Milwaukee delicious.

Happy 75th anniversary George Webb!
